I’m a qualified and insured teacher with Yoga Scotland, officially the ‘governing body’ of yoga in Scotland. I qualified in 2013 and have since gone on to attend many additional courses. These include a series of anatomy workshops at the University of Edinburgh and training with Tiffany Cruickshank, world renowned teacher and founder of Yoga Medicine.
What to expect…
There are many different styles or schools of yoga, from ‘yin’ – where static poses are held for many minutes at a time – to ‘vinyasa flow’ a more athletic, dynamic style of yoga.
My group classes are a mixture of gentle flowing movements and static postures that will, with repeated practice, improve strength and flexibility. All of the sequences and poses can be modified to suit different levels. Each class ends with simple breathing exercises, which helps to calm the mind, and finally a short guided relaxation.
1-2-1 sessions are tailored to individual goals.
What to wear…
Bare feet… no shoes required, yoga mats are only non-slip with bare feet.
Wear something comfortable that you can move freely in. Bring a cosy layer and socks to wear during relaxation.
Be warned if you wear a super baggy T-shirt it may end up around you neck in poses like ‘down dog’!
What to bring…
Blocks and a strap will be provided, please bring a mat if you can – let me know if you require one.
